New Course in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Concord – NHTI's Division of Community Education is pleased to announce that it is offering a three-credit course (AR 160) that will introduce students to the theoretical and applied aspects of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This course will be of particular interest to professionals in environmental and planning fields where GIS is an important data analysis tool.

Topics will include: basic GIS concepts; the structure and availability of GIS data in New Hampshire and beyond; the New Hampshire state GIS database (NH GRANT); creation of maps; editing and creation of GIS data; the use of GPS to collect information for use in GIS; and GIS processing and analysis.

The new course meets Mondays from 6:00 - 9:20 pm for 15 weeks starting January 25th. Visit www.nhti.edu/continuingeducation/ for more information. Registration for the Spring 2010 semester starts November 30th.
